All case studies on HVAC.Agency

Most boiler companies are started by a good technician who is tired of making money for someone else. The licence, the tools and the skill are already there. What is usually missing is the business underneath: a priced service menu, a parts shelf that matches the boilers in your area, a second technician before you burn out, and a reason for homeowners to call you before the first cold snap. BoilerBusiness.ca exists to build that part with you.

Three ways into the boiler business

The right first move depends on how you are entering the trade. The work below is the same set of tools, applied in a different order.

Your situation The first problem to solve Where to start
Starting from scratch No customers, no history, unknown demand A business plan for a boiler start-up
Buying an existing company You are paying for customers you have not met A buy-side customer and marketing review
Scaling a company you run The owner is the bottleneck on every call Technician recruiting and a service-agreement base

Whichever row you are in, the first-year marketing plan ties it together, and the services overview explains how the pieces fit.

What we do, and what we never do

We are a marketing and business consulting service for boiler and hydronic companies. We are not a contractor: we never install, repair or service a boiler, and we will never compete with you for a job. Equipment, gas work and pressure-vessel compliance are yours and your licensed staff's.

We also stay out of three professions. We do not give legal, tax or lending advice, and we do not value businesses or broker sales. When the question is "how much should I pay for this company" or "how do I sell mine", the group's business-sale brand, BizSell.ca, handles that conversation. What we bring is the operating and marketing side: who your customers are, how they will find you, and what it takes to keep them.

A first-year sanity check you can do tonight

Before you spend a dollar, run this calculation with your own numbers. Suppose your plan needs $180,000 of revenue in year one to pay you a modest wage and cover the van, insurance and tools. If your average service call bills $260 and an average install bills $9,000, a mix of 400 service calls ($104,000) and 9 installs ($81,000) gets you there.

Now ask where 400 service calls come from. If a third of them are agreement visits, you need roughly 130 customers on a care plan by winter. The rest must come from search, referrals and the map listing. That one question, "how many agreements by November", shapes the whole marketing plan. The business plan guide walks through the full version, including how much parts stock to carry before the phone rings.

Results from our HVAC work

Our published proof comes from HVAC and boiler companies we have built marketing for. They are not promises for your company, but they show the method working in this exact trade.

  • GasBoilers.ca is a gas-boiler division built for CANRO Heat. Today the division covers 26+ BC communities, with a 5.0★ rating from 76+ Google reviews. It is the closest thing we have to a "start a boiler business inside a business" case.
  • CombiBoiler.ca, a company built around one boiler type, achieved 300% ROI with 300+ monthly leads and holds 500+ page-1 rankings for combi-boiler keywords.
  • BoilerPart.ca grew organic traffic 180% with 2,000+ programmatic pages built around parts and repairs.

The results page explains what each one shows and what a new owner can copy.

Coverage across Canada

We work with boiler companies in every province and territory. The market looks very different from region to region: natural gas heats most homes in Alberta and Saskatchewan, electricity dominates in Quebec, and oil is still common in parts of Atlantic Canada. Each region page covers the local regulators, the heating mix and the programs that affect demand, as of October 2026.

Before you buy a boiler company, find out what the customer list, agreement book, phone number and online presence are really worth to you.

Frequently asked questions

What is BoilerBusiness.ca?

BoilerBusiness.ca is a digital marketing and business consulting service for people starting, buying or scaling boiler service companies in Canada. It belongs to the Sedighi.ca and SAZ.ca group, headquartered in Vancouver, BC, and Ali Sedighi, MBA, leads the boiler work personally.

Do you install or repair boilers?

No. We are not a contractor and never touch equipment. We help owners plan the business, recruit technicians and market the company; the licensed work is yours.

Can you help me get a bank loan or tell me how to structure the purchase?

No. We give no legal, tax or lending advice. We can write the marketing and operating sections of a business plan, but financing, contracts and tax structure belong with your lender, lawyer and accountant. For the purchase or sale of a business itself, the group's brand is BizSell.ca.

What does it cost?

Monthly marketing plans start at $2,998 per month and websites at $3,500, plus GST/HST based on your province (GST and QST in Quebec). Advisory work such as a business plan or a buy-side review is quoted in writing before anything starts.

Can you promise a number of calls in year one?

No one honest can. We show you the arithmetic behind the plan, what our HVAC work produced for named clients, and how we will measure progress each month.

Do you meet in person?

Yes. We meet online by video call and in person, and we also work by phone, text and email. A short text to (604) 632-4959 is a perfectly good way to start.
